Kids-Choice SUPPORTING THE TOBY WRIGHT SCHOLARSHIP HELPS NEW MEXICO STUDENTS WHO HAVE BEEN IMPACTED BY WORK-RELATED INJURIES LIKE KARLA Karla
My name is Karla, and I am a 19 year-old from Santa Teresa, New Mexico. Santa Teresa is a low-income rural community with only one high school. I graduated from Santa Teresa High School in 2022 with 7 distinct honors. I am currently attending New Mexico State University and pursuing a degree in accounting. I am a Crimson Scholar, Conroy Honors student, intern at my university’s student government, and an ambassador for the Honors college. The reason I am eligible for this scholarship is due to my fathers passing in a terrible accident. My father was the only provider for our family, therefore, our life’s were deeply affected mentally, emotionally, and financially. Having the honor of being a Toby Wright Scholar has helped me to continue to pursue my education. I am eternally grateful to those generous people that have donated to help students like me succeed and pursue their dreams.
