When a worker is severely injured or killed on the job, it doesn’t just affect them – it affects their entire family. Thinking about the future is put off, and when the time comes, the cost of higher education can be well out of reach.

That’s where you come in. At Kids’ Chance, we believe that by investing in our children’s future through higher education, we can provide them with the tools they need to be successful in the workplace. We make that investment by providing scholarships to children of workers who have been seriously or fatally injured on the job.

Kids’ Chance of America is committed to identifying eligible scholarship applicants across the country through the Planning for the Future Initiative, and we need your help.

What is the Planning for the Future Initiative and How Can I Help?

The Planning for the Future Initiative is an all-inclusive program designed to reach potential scholarship applicants, especially those who are not yet old enough to apply for a scholarship. We understand that attending college isn’t the only educational future students could choose, and our scholarships are available for any accredited post-secondary educational program.

With this initiative, we provide workers’ compensation industry professionals with a simple tool to identify children in need. We collect and maintain the contact information so we can reach out when the time comes to consider options for higher education. We then connect these eligible applicants to the appropriate Kids’ Chance state organization to begin the scholarship application process.

Collectively, Kids’ Chance organizations have awarded over 8,000 scholarships, and with your assistance, we can continue to grow that number. Please share this program with your colleagues who encounter injured workers or their families, especially those that have children who could be eligible for a scholarship. If you or someone you know is eligible for a Kids’ Chance scholarship, please submit their information via our Planning for the Future form.
